Country and Gospel singer Randy Travis has apologized for his public drunkenness following his arrest on early Monday morning.
The 52-year old singer, who lives in Tioga, Texas, was apparently celebrating the Super Bowl and after a night of revelry was found drunk in a parked car outside a Baptist church in Sanger, Texas. Travis is not only a Grammy winner but has also won 7 Dove awards. The Dove awards are given out by the Gospel Music Association for outstanding achievements in the Christian music industry.
Today Travis released a statement apologizing for his behavior. “I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl. I’m committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions.”
