The divorce between basketball player Kris Humphries and reality star Kim Kardashian is turning into a train wreck and a bitter fight to the end. Recently, the lawyer for Humphries said that he will put reality television on the stand, which is something that could be thrown back into his face.
Humphries’ lawyer, Lee Hutton, has said that he wants to “expose the M.O. of reality TV.” He said he would do this by showing the world that Kardashian had no intention of remaining married to Humphries. He wants to prove that Kardashian used the wedding and early stages of the marriage to obtain high ratings for the television show.
There is a bit of irony involved in this method because the two have asked to have the trial broadcast by television networks across the country and websites alike. For all we know, the judge could turn down the request stating that it would be a hypocritical move.
Kardashian originally filed for divorce, stating that there were irreconcilable differences between her and Kris. On the other side of things, Humphries has said that he wants the marriage to be annulled because it was fraudulent.
Humphries could run into a couple of roadblocks regarding his claim of a fraudulent marriage. The first of those problems is the fact that he proposed to Kardashian. The second problem is the fact that the marriage to Kardashian has made Humphries a world-wide popular figure, helping him market himself, making him millions of dollars more than he would have made if none of this happened.
A third possible roadblock for Humphries in his fraud claim is the fact that Kardashian has a very long and very complicated prenuptial agreement. The prenuptial agreement supposedly deals with what would happen well into the future of the couple’s marriage. If Kardashian was planning to end the marriage this early on, would she really have such a complicated and long prenuptial agreement drawn up at the time of the marriage?
