PDR–Again!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are having a great Sunday!

So yesterday was another big day for me! Remember two weeks ago when I ran 11 miles and PDR’d (Personal Distance Record)? Well yesterday I had 12 miles on my half marathon training plan, so it was another new PDR for me!

I was really not wanting to hit the treadmill again, however, it had snowed like crazy the whole day before and then I woke up to this:

Um. No thank you. I decided to hit the treadmill. Sorry I’m not sorry.

I was sorry, however, when I got to the gym. My gym opens at 8am on Saturday mornings so I arrived promptly at 7:58 to a crowd waiting outside. Normal, I figured, we have a couple minutes. Waiting… Still waiting. Murmuring in the crowd. Severe disgruntlement occurring.

Apparently whichever manager had the key did not feel the need to grace us at 8am that morning. We were finally let in around 8:25! I was not a happy camper, but not too upset since I didn’t have any concrete plans that day. I did, however, feel pretty bad for some of the other people who’d planned on being out of there by 9 to get to work.

Once I’d changed out of my sweats and boots, I hit the treadmill and got started! Right after I began, a girl that I had run next to a few weeks ago who’d been training for a half showed up! Thank goodness for her! She ran next to me for 6 of my 12 miles and we talked the whole time! I was so grateful to have her there to distract me and make it more entertaining! Thanks Chelsey!

Haha, I especially appreciated it since the TVs went blank and never came back on… Thanks gym. After Chelsey left, I listened to a podcast that my cousin, Allie, suggested to me. It was called the Half Marathon Training Academy and was really pretty interesting! It kept me entertained for another 4 miles, and then I ended up switching to music to get myself through the last bit.

I ended the 12 miles in 1:53:39 for a pace of 9:28 min/mile! The run went pretty well, although my ankles and knees started feeling sore for the last 3 miles. I’ll have to work on some kind of ankle strengthening.

I got off the treadmill only to see this sign on my way into the locker room:

I was laughing, however, I don’t think I would have been if I had really needed to go….

When I got home I stretched, showered, and then put on my pretty purple compression sleeves and iced my knees while I enjoyed a sweet potato and some greek yogurt.

I spent the rest of the day getting a little work done and then hanging out with my brother and sister-in-law, as well as getting some time in with my love, Molly.

BAT DOG!!!! (Anyone remember this from Homeward Bound?)

She also likes to clean the table:

Doesn’t she look all sweet? Try and take that toy from her and see how sweet she gets….

We ended up grabbing dinner at Counter Burger, which I LOVE so I could finally get some veggies in for the day, and Lauren and I also went to Whole Foods! It was a great and relaxing Saturday! Now I’ve got to run, or I’ll be late to Bikram!

What’s your furthest distance or greatest physical accomplishment?

What are you up to this weekend? Crazy exciting, or relaxing?
