She called producer Lorne Michaels, whom she feels has been a fatherly figure towards her through the years, asking him when the right time to do the show would be; after a series of conversations, they settled for March 3.
Lohan will be featured along with rock star Jack White, who is launching his tour and solo career with an appearance on the show.
This is Lohan’s first appearance since 2006. Her tweet expressed a mild satisfaction with being on the show: “SNL! I love @NBC !!!!!!!!!!!!”
Lohan wants to remind her audience that she is an actress, not a defendant. Said publicist Steve Honig: “Lindsay is very much looking forward to hosting SNL and working with the incredible cast, crew and writers to put on a memorable show.”
Perhaps some positive publicity will ladder her to some solid movie work? After all, her Playboy shoot was by no means a snooze. March 3’s performance may be the boost she is looking for.
