On average, most brides spend about 250 hours trying to figure out all of the details and plans for their special wedding day. However, for Elizabeth Smart, this simply was not the case, as she has been able to finalize the plans for her wedding in what seems to be absolutely no time at all.
Elizabeth Smart is set to marry Matthew Gilmour, who is 22 year old. The couple has been dating for just a little over a year and their engagement took place last month. Elizabeth originally wanted her wedding to take place during the summer but recently announced that she would be moving the wedding date to a more recent time. The wedding took place last Saturday in the afternoon.
Smart says that she has managed to plan everything when it comes to her wedding in a matter of just a few days. Elizabeth was in South Carolina, speaking out about child advocacy just a few days prior to flying to Hawaii with her parents for a marriage ceremony with Gilmour. The wedding was private and only family members were in attendance.
When it came down to wedding planning, Smart laughed at the thought of following tradition and needing something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. She says that she simply did not have enough time for following those traditions, especially since her marriage ceremony was a destination wedding.
