Louise Meanwell never meant well for any of the men caught in her trap including Brian Cashman, the New York Yankees manager. The case will go to trial next month but has already become talk of the town. The Yankees have also shown solidarity with their manager.
Posing as a wealthy British aristocrat, the single jobless mum passed herself off as “Lady Louise†and made her way into the elite society of Manhattan. Other wealthy men too have now opened up and admitted that “Lady Louise,†had seduced them and made exorbitant demands for money.
The story became known when she was arrested while trying to extort a huge sum of money from Brian Cashman. The concerned court in New York refused her bail when it was brought to the court’s notice that thirteen other people including her former boyfriends, her ex-husband, her former mother-in-law, as well as her own 14-year old daughter had filed restraining orders to stop her from stalking them.
Brian Cashman sees Louise as a crazy stalker trying to extort money from him.
Lady Louise has continued her antics even from behind the bars in Riker’s Island prison. In a series of interviews she has been venting at Cashman with the consequence of his wife filing for divorce.
In response to Cashman’s assertion that she was a crazy stalker, “Lady Louise†told on a jail phone interview, “He’s a womanizer caught with his pants down with multiple women and he was scared his life would unravel … and that’s why I’m here.â€
Also in another message, she warned the millionaire Yankee manager, “I have everything in chronological order, Brian. You have to remember I am a little more educated, intelligent, worldly wise and streetwise than yourself.â€
There is no doubt about her being “worldly wise and streetwise,†as men have found out. Police reports say that she has served jail spells for trespassing and breaking restraining orders. One police investigator said, “She is very tech-savvy. She also keeps meticulous records of every email and phone call … something she then uses against the victim.â€
Todd Hawk, a Wall Street trader had dated her for three weeks in 2007 and was hounded for four years after that. Louise even served 40 days in jail for harassing Tedd’s mother.
Louise’s ex-husband Jason Bump, who has full custody of their minor daughter and restraining orders to prevent her from contacting them or their relatives, is trying to protect the girl from her mother’s influence. Meanwell is known to have called her mother-in-law up nine times one night to wish that her mother-in-law died of cancer.
