Producers of ‘American Idol,’ after learning of the criminal background for Jermaine Jones, have decided to kick the contestant off of the show beginning with Wednesday night’s episode. Jones did not tell producers of the show that he had been arrested twice in 2011 and has outstanding warrants in his name. Jones was spotted fleeing ‘Idol’ and returning to the Philadelphia area earlier in the day Wednesday.
The information about Jones’ background was discovered on Tuesday, which prompted producers of the show to confront Jones on camera about his background. Sources say that one of the incidents involving Jones has to do with violence, which bothered producers the most when finding out about Jones’ history. The two times that Jones was arrested he provided police officers with fake names.
Jones is scheduled to appear on the show Wednesday night but will be sent home for lying to the producers about his background. Jones originally told the producers of the show that his father abandoned him at the age of 10. That lie was blown up by his father, who told producers that the two see each other regularly. The producers knew that Jones made the comment about his father so they began to dig deeper into his life and found the criminal history.
