A wonderful video of an eagle, a fox, and a cat on the same porch without attacking each other teaches a lesson how animals can get along, but some of us cannot. The video, posted on March 25 by user pla155alaska on YouTube has gained huge popularity and people have been sharing it with their friends and families.
Right now, as I am writing this article, there are 3044 likes, 23 dislikes and 130,973 viewings of the video within the last 72 hours. While the video name “An eagle, a fox and my cat all getting along fine on my porch” is interesting enough and shows the tolerance of animals, more interesting are some of the 586 comments on the video that provide direct insight into human reactions on seeing animals getting along with each other.
Here are some latest comments from YouTube users:
JosueG40: “Is this Narnia?”
Mb595x: “This feels set up.”
CannabisSativa713: “moments later she was mauled by one eagle two cats and a fox. Her last words were “put this s*** on YouTube.”
Of course there are some more optimistic viewers like PPCLOCK: “Those animals aren’t there just to hang out. They are waiting for that baby to show a weakness.”
And angry:
Latigresa81 “Ok, now I’ve watched your other videos and this happens because you feed your cats Tuna on the porch. Hence all your guests. Feed your cats in a carrier or something. Feeding them this way, you are also feeding the wildlife, which is illegal in AK.”
And supportive:
Miscjrose: “Despite all the negative comments, I think it is truly a blessing to have nature at its best right at your front door. As long as you respect them they will not be a threat. It is very clear that the cats are comfortable and feel unthreatened by the eagle and the fox and the cats evidently have gotten used to their visitors. Thank you for sharing your blessing. I know I enjoyed. I have wild rabbits who I have bonded with and two of my favorite Does bring me their new Kits every Spring.”
Jfredmagee: “There are some truly vile people in the world – something has happened in the last 30 years in this culture to where it’s considered OK to say anything at any time about anyone – no consequences – no regrets – no morals – no nothing – just empty words coming out of empty heads. The animals are cool. It’s not a problem. If it were, the cat wouldn’t be there. Chill.”
And of course, there are a great number of those who find the video truly incredulous:
Bloopyblop: “Why does looking at the vid make me feel like I’m tripping on acid again?”
