U.S. Attorney’s Office Snatches Back a Lead Attorney from JP Morgan

Christian B. Dugger, a significant lawyer for J.P. Morgan Chase & co. has been tapped and stolen by for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. She will assume her new position at Brooklyn’s office as the number 2 prosecutor.

“I look foreword to welcoming Christian back to the EDNY,” said Loretta Lunch, Brooklyn’s U.S. attorney. “Her knowledge of the office, commitment to justice and personal integrity make her eminently suited to join an already outstanding management team” she added, mixing self-congratulation with celebration.

Dugger graduated from Columbia College and Cornell Law School in 1994, clerked for Chief Judge Judith Kaye from 1997 to 1999, Worked nine years as a prosecutor for the U.S. attorney’s office from 1999 to 2008, served as vice president in Goldman Sachs group Inc’ compliance department from 2008 to 2009, served as co-deputy head of J.P. Morgan Chases government investigation and regular enforcement group from 2009 to 2012, and now is circling back to work again for the U.S. Attorney’s office.

The Eastern District also announced five Criminal Division appointments on March 29, including Walter Norkin as chief of the narcotic section, Robert Capers as senior litigation counsel, John Nowak as deputy chief of the business and security securities fraud section, Justin Lere as deputy chief of the narcotic section, and Tyler Smith as assistant coordinate for the Project Safe Childhood program.
