Mr. Steinberg, a former U.S. Senate Chief Counsel and Chief of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Office in New York, is a Fellow of both the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and American College of Trial Lawyers. He was recognized as Miami’s “Bet-the-Company Litigation Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in America 2012, in addition to being recognized as one of the Top 10 lawyers by Florida Super Lawyers. Mr. Steinberg will serve as co-chair of Bilzin Sumberg’s Litigation Practice with current chair Michael Kreitzer.
Mr. Steinberg and Mr. Gutchess represent Fortune 500 companies in litigation matters across a variety of practices and industries. Their clients include major multi-national corporations such as Bacardi, Carnival and Ryder. They are both former recipients of the Daily Business Review’s “Most Effective Lawyer” award for class action defense.
Mr. Steinberg’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, including contract disputes, class actions, business torts, securities litigation, health care fraud and abuse investigations, intellectual property, antitrust and product liability matters.
Mr. Gutchess’ practice focuses on complex litigation, class action defense, corporate governance and securities, internal investigations, and international arbitration. He has extensive experience in national and nationally publicized class actions, including actions in the pharmaceutical, insurance, vacation, alcohol beverage, and cellular service industries.
