Hey everyone!!! It’s Wednesday, which of course means another installment of What I Ate Wednesday! However, before we get to that, I have much more exciting news:

RACE PHOTOS ARE OUT!

And they are BEAUTIFUL. Not. I actually could not stop laughing at my pictures, I looked like I wanted to cry in all of them!!! I swear I smiled at a couple cameras! Anyway, I thought I was hilarious and sent all of them to my family, in order, with captions of what I was thinking. They were all from the last 2 miles and looked basically like this:

I really did want to die, as you may have read on my race recap. However, I crossed the finish line, was handed water and a medal, and somehow immediately forgot how rough it was:

I forgot so quickly, actually, that I accepted a free registration to a 10 miler on April 28th! CARA’s Lakefront 10 Miler! One of my amazing Chicago-area readers, Lauren, had a free entry and couldn’t use it, so she passed it on to me! Thank you Lauren!

Haha, I have caught the racing bug! And I like the medals…  didn’t win too many of those during my oh so athletic youth.

So moving on to What I Ate Wednesday! These are all of my eats from Tuesday, a day that I spend most of my time at home since I only have one class! If you are new to WIAW, head over to Peas and Crayons to see what it’s all about, and all the other blogs participating!

Peas and Crayons

For breakfast I couldn’t decided between oats or yogurt, so I had both! I just made some plain oats with chia seeds, cinnamon, and some PB mixed in, served with a Peach Chobani on the side! Peach is definitely my new favorite flavor, how did I not try this before?!? P.S. this is my breakfast when I was almost done… and realized I’d forgotten to take a picture.

For lunch, I realized I’d had a spaghetti squash sitting in my kitchen for way too long. I baked it (cut it in half, put it face down and baked for 40 min at 400 degrees) and then on top added some zucchini and chickpeas sautéed in olive oil, some marinara sauce and a bit of cheese. Stuck it in the microwave for 45 seconds to melt the cheese!

I was craving something sweet after lunch, so I made up a bowl of fresh cut fruit! Strawberries, mangos and blueberries. And there may or may not have been a few dips in the PB jar too… But come on, I needed to have a late celebration of National PB&J day!

Later in the afternoon I had some Erewhon Gluten Free Brown Rice Cereal with blueberries, and again with some PB… Seriously, this is becoming an issue. I need to hide the jar from myself. No picture, but here’s the box! I am loving this cereal because it makes the crackling noise just like rice crispy treats! And the ingredients? Organic Brown Rice, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, and Sea Salt. Winning.

After snack time, I headed off to the gym to complete the first workout in Phase 3 of Tina’s Best Body Boot camp! I’m excited to get back into the workouts since I had to modify them considerably last week for tapering.

This phase includes “push and pull” exercises, meaning that one day we do all exercises that work our push muscles and then another day we do exercises that work our pull muscles! Tuesday’s workout was Push Strength Drop Sets, which meant that for each set I decreased reps and increased weights. I had never done this before so it was fun to try something new and challenging! Although it did make it a little more difficult at my gym, since I had to keep going back and finding new weights, which made it take a bit longer.

When I got home, I wasn’t too hungry (too much PB and cereal…) but after a bit I roasted some spaghetti squash (I thought it would be like hashbrowns… it wasn’t), some broccoli slaw and some chickpeas, served with ketchup of course! And plain greek yogurt mixed with raspeberry preserves on the side.

After dinner I made some more of the same yogurt mix and at it with a sliced apple. I also had a couple hershey dark chocolate kisses! So good!

My friend, Maddie, said her mom sent her some Easter Almond M&Ms and now I literally cannot stop thinking about them! I’ve decided Easter candy is more enticing because of the pretty pastel colors… so innocent. Haha just throwing that in there. Dessert on my mind!

What’s your favorite holiday for candy?

Have you ever gotten back really amusing photos from an event/race?
