Britney Spears is in the news once again and this time the news is not bad. It has been rumored that Spears is in the process of negotiating a contract worth $15 million to be one of the judges on the television show ‘X Factor.’ She would be one of the judges next season. Reportedly, the major terms of the contract have already been agreed upon and now the producers of the show and Spears’ team are working on the finer points of the contract.
If the contract does reach a final stage, including being drafted and signed by both parties, it will then head to Jamie Spears for approval. Jamie is Britney’s father and conservator. Lawyers for the conservatorship will also review the contract before it goes to a judge who oversees it. Sources close to the situation claim that the contract is pretty much a virtual certainty and that all parties involved will sign the contract.
The executive producer for the show, Simon Cowell, said, “I would love to have her on the show. I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to.”
Cowell also said that an announcement could be made about the contract within a week. Spears would help to fill one of the two open seats on the judge panel. The two who are not returning include Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.
