The law firm of McKool Smith
“Courtland is a uniquely talented trial lawyer with a stellar track record. He is a perfect match for the firm and will be an invaluable asset to our clients,” said Mike McKool, co-founder and Chairman of McKool Smith. “We represent many leading innovators and technology companies in high-stakes patent disputes. Silicon Valley continues to be the hub of technological innovation. This expansion will better position the firm to meet our clients’ needs in the region.”
The office in the Silicon Valley is the eighth for the firm and second office in California. Back in September of last year, lawyers from Hennigan Dorman joined McKool Smith, adding 35 trial lawyers to their practice. In California, McKool Smith operates as McKool Smith Hennigan.
Reichman has represented clients in patent and Lanham Act litigation along with intellectual property and commercial cases. Reichman has made appearances in state and federal courts across the United States and has appeared in front of the International Trade Commission. For his appellate resume, Reichman has argued over 20 federal appellate cases in front of the U.S. Supreme Court and the Federal Circuit.
“McKool Smith is an elite trial firm with an unparalleled track record in intellectual property disputes. When you look at the firm’s growth and success over the past five years, it’s truly remarkable,” Reichman said. “I am excited to join such a formidable group of trial lawyers and look forward to building the firm’s presence in Silicon Valley.”
Reichman will be joined in the office by Senior Counsel Sarah Jorgensen and Principal Jill Wasserman. Wasserman works as an intellectual property lawyer with patent, trademark and false advertising cases on her resume. Wasserman earned a degree in law from the Georgia State University College of Law. She graduated summa cum laude. Wasserman worked as a law clerk for the former Chief Judge of the Northern District of Georgia early in her career.
Jorgensen has worked as a clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and Honorable Lawrence H. Silberman from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Jorgensen previously served as a trial attorney for the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. Jorgensen acquired her law degree from Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude.
