The law firm of WilmerHale has announced that it has added Drew Chapman to the law firm’s New York office. Chapman will be a partner in the firm’s securities department and investment management group. Chapman will also be the head of the alternative investment practice. Chapman has joined the law firm from the firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. At Cadwalader, Chapman worked as the head of the alternative investment group.
Chapman’s practice is centered on alternative investments, financial services industries and asset management. Chapman comes to WilmerHale with extensive experience in transactional, fund formation and structuring. Chapman has had the ability to work with the leading hedge funds and hedge fund providers during his 15-year career in private practice in New York.
“We are pleased to welcome Drew to WilmerHale,” said Robert Novick, WilmerHale’s co-managing partner. “Drew will act as a core investment management partner to our New York office. The transactional services that he provides compliment the manner in which we currently represent our hedge fund and alternative asset management clients in this growing market.”
Later this year, WilmerHale is moving its offices in New York to the Silverstein Properties’ 7 World Trade Center. The firm continues to expand its list of expert attorneys as Chapman is just one of three recent new hires in the office.
