Mitt Romney Encounters Protestors at Ohio Speech

Mitt Romney made a campaign appearance in Ohio recently with the Speaker of the House, John Boehner. During Romney’s speech at the campaign stop, protestors shouted repeatedly at the Republican candidate for the White House. The campaign stop occurred on Sunday and it occurred in Troy, the home district of Boehner. Romney was delivering his speech from the bed of a pickup truck, having to cut it short because of the protestors shouting at the candidate.

The group of protestors was very small but incredibly noisy. The speech from Romney lasted only six minutes as the protestors shouted ‘Romney go home!’ In response to the protestors, a group of staffers for Romney positioned speakers in the middle of the group in an effort to drown them out so they could no longer be heard. The group of protestors made it through security so they were not removed from the campaign stop by staffers or security despite the outbursts. This was the third visit to the state of Ohio for Romney.

Mitt’s wife, Ann, appeared on stage at the beginning of the day to introduce her husband. As the protestors shouted, Ann replied with “We got some distracters out there, but… we can be just as loud about how much we love this country.”
