Jason Bohn Claims Murder of Girlfriend was ‘Drunken’ Accident

Two dramatic notes have been found at the Queens apartment where a 27-year-old woman was beaten to death. In the notes, found by police, the alleged killer allegedly claims the crime was the result of a drunken accident. The killer is suspected to be Jason Bohn, the 33-year-old boyfriend of the victim.

“It was an accident, it was an accident, it was an accident,” Jason Bohn reportedly wrote in the letters, according to Queens DA Richard Brown. “I had been drinking and I was drunk when I got home. She was already asleep,” the note said. “I woke up and there was fighting between us. When I woke up again she was unconscious. I am sorry.” In the second letter, Bohn reportedly wrote, “Dani, I will love you forever.”

The notes, written by hand, were found inside the Astoria apartment that Bohn shared with the victim, Danielle Thomas. Thomas worked as an executive with Weight Watchers. The couple lived through a very tumultuous and violent relationship for the past year. This past weekend, Bohn was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on charges that he strangled and beat Thomas to death early Sunday morning last week.

Bohn was on the run for six days before he was caught on June 29 in a White Plains restaurant. He was having dinner with his lawyer and his mother. Police officers said that the arrest was not arranged beforehand. Bohn is facing 25 years in prison on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated criminal contempt and tampering with physical evidence.

The murder took place early in the morning that Sunday. After the murder occurred, Bohn used the cell phone of Thomas to send her friends multiple text messages posing as the deceased woman just hours after she was killed. One source said that Bohn sent a text to a friend of Thomas’ because the friend expressed concern about her well-being.

“Please trust me,” Bohn wrote in the text. Bohn also wrote that Thomas was ‘fine’ and pretended that she was at the gay-pride parade on Fifth Avenue that Sunday afternoon. Police said that Thomas was deceased when the messages were sent and that Bohn put Thomas’ body on ice in the Astoria apartment bathtub until police found it Tuesday night. Another source said that Bohn used the cell phone of Thomas to confess in a voicemail that he ‘got drunk’ and killed Thomas by pushing her up against a wall. The voicemail confession was sent to an ex-girlfriend of his.
