The Martin, Harding & Mazzotti law firm of Utica has struck upon a novel idea to offer social services this 4th July. According to their announce program, the law firm is offering free cab rides from 8 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday during July 4th celebrations.
The firm claims that the service would help to reduce the number of accidents occurring due to drinking and driving at the same time. The free cab rides would be offered to anyone who calls from the areas of Utica, Amsterdam, Saratoga and the Capital District, as well as from Springfield, Mass., and Burlington Vt.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, July 4th is the deadliest holiday of the year due to accidents and car crashes related to driving while intoxicated. The 4th of July has maintained this top spot for the last 25 years unchallenged. Also, according to the NHTSA, 51 percent of deadliest traffic crashes on the Independence Day are related to alcohol use.
The managing partner of the law firm, Paul Harding, told the media, “This is a family holiday, and Martin, Harding & Mazzotti is happy to help people make a responsible choice by offering July 4th revelers an alternative to getting behind the wheel drunk.”
Revelers who want to coordinate a free ride from their location to their homes would need to call up 1-800-LAW-1010 or dial Star-Star-Law (**529) from their phones or mobile phones. Upon calling, area residents would be connected with an operator who would send a car to take the caller home safely.
Why don’t law firms in my town come up with such brilliant ideas?
