Tom Cruise Shot Down Katie Holmes Idea of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion

A report has surfaced that Katie Holmes was interested in doing a reunion for ‘Dawson’s Creek.’ The reunion never happened because according to Us Weekly, Tom Cruise shot down the idea. Fans of the show are wondering if the divorce filing by Holmes from Cruise changes reunion plans. The magazine was told by a source that Holmes wanted to reunite with James Van Der Beek and Joshua Jackson to have ‘fun’ and ‘reconnect with her fans.’ Cruise shot down the idea of the reunion and told Holmes to leave her past in the past.

Holmes told Robin Roberts in November of 2011 that she would return to the ‘Creek,’ saying, “It would be fun. I had so much fun working on that show and I loved everyone so much and I think about it with such fond memories. A really great group of people.”

Kelly Ripa was told by Van Der Beek that there were no concrete plans for a reunion of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ when he was promoting his new ABC series ‘Don’t Trust The B—- in Apartment 23.’

“I feel like this is the number one question that we get asked. Nobody’s producing it, nobody’s writing it, it’s just something that comes in press,” Van Der Beek said.

When Van Der Beek was asked if there could be a reunion of the ‘Creek’ on his new television series, he said, “I would love that. There aren’t any in Season 1 so it would have to be Season 2. Knock wood. If we get picked up for Season 2, I would love that. I think it’d be great.” “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23” returns for its second season with ABC this coming fall.

Michelle Williams, who played Jen on the show, said that she would love to participate in a reunion project. “He [Van Der Beek] could totally ask!” Williams said in an interview. “I’ve always said, I’m totally up for reunion tours, reunion shows, so we can do that.” There is a problem with Williams joining a reunion project and it is the fact that her character died on the show. Van Der Beek had some fun with that fact when he discussed possible reunion projects.

“Michelle Williams is always like, ‘Absolutely!’ I think because her character is dead,” he said.

Jackson has not been quiet about a possible reunion either. Jackson, who stars in ‘Fringe’ now, held a Pacey-Con event in 2010 as an alternative to Comic-Con. Since almost all of the major stars of the show are in agreement on a reunion, a return to Capeside could be in the near future.
