Greenberg Traurig LLP has announced that it has added lawyers to its Israel Practice in the offices of Tel Aviv and New York. The Tel Aviv office will be home to Scott Mortman as a shareholder for the Corporate & Securities Practice. Mortman was a partner at Mayer, Brown LLP. The New York office will be home to Ephraim Schmeidler. He will work as counsel in the Corporate & Securities Practice. He previously worked as a lawyer with Blank Rome.

Epstein is the chair of the Global Corporate & Securities Practice for the firm. He is also the co-chair of the Israel Practice and the managing shareholder of the Tel Aviv office. “The top-tier attorneys who are joining our team have the cross-border experience that make them a good fit with our firm and is increasingly required by our global clients.â€
The practice for Mortman is centered around energy, technology, the environment, governmental affairs, corporate law and litigation and international dispute resolution.

In other lateral news, the firm of Sidley Austin LLP announced that Alexander Moon has joined the firm’s global finance practice as a partner in the New York office. Moon’s practice focuses on secured and unsecured finances and the financing of commodities in domestic and cross-border areas.
