Arrest Warrant Issued for Cuba Gooding Jr.

It was reported on Tuesday that actor Cuba Gooding Jr. was being sought by police in New Orleans for an incident at a bar called The Old Absinthe House, which is located on Bourbon Street. The incident took place at 3 a.m. on Tuesday. Officers issued a warrant for Gooding’s arrest after he reportedly shoved a bartender at the establishment. There were no arrests made by police at the bar. Gooding is in New Orleans to shoot the drama ‘The Butler.’ According to reports, Gooding became upset when patrons at the bar took photos of him. He started cursing and then shoved a female bartender twice when he was asked to leave. The warrant is for misdemeanor battery.

According to one of Gooding’s lawyers, the actor from Los Angeles is ‘taking necessary actions’ after he shoved the bartender. The attorney, Peter Toumbekis, reached out to the New Orleans Police Department for Gooding sometime Tuesday afternoon. The statement from authorities said that Gooding became agitated with patrons when they requested pictures with him. When Gooding was told that police officers were en route to the bar, Gooding reportedly shoved the bartender a second time and then left the establishment. Gooding was in the bar with a group of friends, none of which have been identified.
