Their biggest trouble in the relationship is finding time for each other, and Anderson’s mother, designer Gloria Vanderbilt, had to step in and help work things out. Cooper agreed to go on fewer trips abroad, and Maisani agreed to work fewer night shifts at his bar. Maisani owns Eastern Bloc, a gay bar in Manhattan’s East village, and Cooper works for CNN on the shows “Anderson Cooper 360” and a daytime TV talk show. The quality time they can generally count on sharing is working out together, a daily routine. Anderson’s mom has also urged the couple to adopt a child.
“They both have very busy lives and have enormous trust in one another,” said a friend of Anderson to the Huffington Post. “But at the end of the day, they come from very different worlds. Just this weekend, Anderson was hanging out with Beyonce at the UN headquarters for World Humanitarian Day, while Ben runs a gay bar in the East Village.”
What the pictures mean and whether the couple will persist despite the new intrusions from the public, and perhaps personal betrayals of each other, is yet to be seen.
