Running Like a Goat

Hey everyone! Another post from my phone… Haha so fun. Hope you all are having a great week! As you read this I’m probably hiking up Pike’s Peak! Send me some prayers! Hopefully my amazing singing skills will scare away any mountain lions… Although I’ll probably just scare people.

Something I forgot to show you all was the instagram photo I made of the windmills! There are huge wind farms in Kansas and Colorado and I think they are not only a great source of alternative energy but they are so pretty!

So yesterday I had a 4 mile run on the agenda and I thought it would be fun to do it through the Garden of the Gods! Little did I know many of the running trails turned into hiking trails…

Although it was rough I actually had a blast! I LOVE trail running! Haha I totally felt like a deer or a mountain goat bounding around!

There was one point where I went up a switchback and ended up at a gorgeous overlook:

I had the best time!

After the run my mom and i got breakfast then we just relaxed and hung out for a while. My friend who lives in Denver came down for the afternoon and we ended up driving around some of the neighborhoods that were affected by the fire.

I knew the fires got a mile from our house but it was so shocking to drive through these neighborhoods so close to us. It was also amazing to see how the fire affected the neighborhood; some houses looked perfectly fine while others right next to it were burnt to the ground.

It made me so thankful for how lucky my family has been but at the same time south more aware of the devastation that others have had to deal with.

After that we walked around Colorado Ave, got dinner at the Tapateria and then some froyo before she headed back to Denver and I got ready for my big hike this morning!

have you ever gone trail running?

have you ever been affected by a natural disaster?
