Willie Nelson Suffers Breathing Problems; Cancels Denver Show

Willie Nelson is perfectly fine after he suffered some breathing issues this past Saturday that caused him to cancel his performance that same day near Denver, Colorado. The publicist for Nelson told E! News that the country singer is ‘fine.’ “Willie’s fine. His shows are gonna continue,” representative Elaine Shock said. “This was the only one that was canceled. He’s actually on the road to the next gig.”

Nelson was scheduled to play at a concert at the Castle Pines Village, 21 miles north of Denver, and it was going to be benefit concert. The profits from the concert were going to go to the Dumb Friends League, which is an animal shelter. The event was called Lulu’s Barkin’ BBQ. One of the organizers said that Willie “woke up and had trouble breathing, so he was taken to the hospital.

The representative for Nelson did not confirm or deny if the country singer was hospitalized but said that Nelson was recovering nicely and is still scheduled to make his next performance. That show is scheduled for August 21 at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas.

“He’s not going anywhere,” she said. “It really was high altitude-related.”

When Nelson was enjoying a family vacation in 1981 in Hawaii he suffered a collapsed lung when he was swimming. He had to miss 18 shows while he was recovering from the collapsed lung.
