Rush Limbaugh has a talent for making headlines. Like the wise-cracking kid in the back of the classroom, he feeds off the negative attention, while meanwhile his critics think their criticism and outrage has a negative effect on him. It doesn’t; he loves it. So it is with the latest: apropos of an Italian study that discovered that male penis length is down 10 percent from 50 years ago — a change they correlate with waist size, smoking habits, stress, and environmental pollutants — Rush offered his own theory:
“I think it’s feminism. If it’s tied to the last 50 years — the average size of a member is 10 percent smaller than 50 years — it has to be the feminazis, the chickification and everything else.”
“Give ’em time and they’ll blame Bush. But air pollution vs. feminazis? Ha!”
Earlier Limbaugh incited a media storm when he called Catholic University Georgetown Law Student Sandra Fluke a “slut” for wanting her university to pay her $3,000 to cover her birth control. The scandal stirred enough noise for Obama to weigh in and score some brownie points calling up Fluke to tell her that her parents should be proud of her, and Limbaugh finally apologized for using the word “slut.”
Nevertheless, that’s his game, and he’ll keep playing it until people cease to pay attention.
