Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a great weekend! I feel like mine is FLYING by! I thought I’d just update you all on what I’ve been up to the past couple of days!

First of all, we had our first GOTR practice on Friday! It was… overwhelming. Haha, well 2 of the coaches couldn’t make it and so we had only 1 sub. So there were 3 of us when we should have had 4. Also, the other coach who I will be working with… well let’s just say our personalities don’t really mesh. She’s really nice, but she’s a lot younger, loud and more of an “in the moment” person rather than someone like me who plans and follows the lessons. But she’s really enthusiastic and loves coaching so I’m sure it will work out. I think I was just VERY overwhelmed with realizing just how many 30 girls really is.

On top of all that – it was RAINING. Aka we had to do our lesson in the gym and they were all going crazy. And there were a few criers. Haha emotional day. But I think they had fun and I’m ready to really get going tomorrow when we have all of our regular coaches.

What
Where

Saturday morning I had my 12 mile run, nothing too exciting to report on that one but it was a nice run and it felt good to get out there in colder temps (it was around 54 during our run) and try out wearing capris and a long sleeve.

That morning I was on the phone with my brother and I heard him shout “MOLLY, NOOOO!!!” and then he hung up.

Hmmm…

He called back a bit later and explained what happened. It was hilarious.

He was walking Molly by a pond and had her off her leash so she could explore. They were up at the edge of the pond where there were a bunch of ducks, and suddenly Molly decided to take a huge jump into the pond to “hunt” the ducks. Well, first off she didn’t reailze it was deep water, so she initially went under when she jumped and came up all flustered. My brother thought for a second he was going to have to go in after her… She remembered how to swim and paddled back into shore.

My brother got her home and took this picture, with the quote “fearless hunter”:

She looks pretty scary, right? Haha she was cold, wet, and confused as to why she was stuck in the kitchen. Luckily my sister-in-law was able to take her to a dog wash, but it was one of those places where you wash your own dog and Molly was not a fan. Apparently she was cowering in the corner because she was afraid of the dryer.

Yep. That’s our fearless hunter right there.

That afternoon I met up with my brother, sister-in-law and one of my brother’s friends from work to watch the Mizzou game at a Missouri Bar.

I love doing this because bars all over Chicago claim a team as their own and host game watching parties. We found a bar that was for Missouri fans and the alumni association sends over pom poms, and other various fun things (probably to get people all nostalgic so they’ll donate… haha).

We had a great time watching the game and the best part was that during the commercials the bars switched the TVs over and play hilarious videos. It was SO entertaining. There’s a hot dog place in my neighborhood called Weiner Circle, where the people who work there yell and cuss at you as you order… I haven’t gone because 1) I can’t really eat anything there and 2) I would be so scared! Haha. Well Conan O’Brien featured it on his show and sent in Jack McBrayer and Triumph and the video was absolutely hilarious. I was dying. There are some clips on youtube, but beware, there is a LOT of cussing.

Another new thing? I’ve started watching Downton Abbey. Obsessed.

Today’s agenda includes maybe some yoga and strength training (body weight in my apartment), grocery shopping and meal planning and, of course, some Downton Abbey thrown in there. Sadly only the first season is on Netflix…

Any funny stories from your weekend?

Are you a college football fan? Or NFL? I love Mizzou and the Chiefs!!!
