Trump Organization Fired from Managing Trump Place

The Trump Organization has been fired from managing Trump Place, the condominium complex on the Hudson River that bears the same name. The company was fired by the condominium board. AKAM Living Services was hired to replace the Trump Organization. The new management company has worked at addresses along West End Avenue, Central Park West and Fifth Avenue. AKAM will take over managing the property beginning on November 1. According to The Real Deal, the Trump Organization was shocked by the change.

“We certainly would have been willing to discuss the concerns of the board if they had contacted us,” Sonja Talesnik, general counsel for the Trump Organization, said. “They gave us no indication that they were looking to change managing agents.”

The vice president of the Trump Place condominium board, Anna Fishbeyn, said that the move was coming for a long time. “We’ve been waiting for their services to improve for years,” Fishbeyn said. “And when they didn’t, we started investigating other services.”

According to Fishbeyn, her office has been receiving quite a lot of thank you notes from residents for switching management companies.

“I have received email after email thanking me for the decision,” she said. “We were in part responding to [residents who] over the years who had been accruing complaints, and talking about the lack of responsiveness… of maintenance issues.”
