One of the most popular cable networks in the country, Spike TV, is offering $10 million on its new reality show, “10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty.” The show focuses on the hunt for Bigfoot across the forests of America in the hopes of attracting the most ambitious hunters of the legendary animal.
Spike TV partnered with Lloyd’s of London for the show to put together teams of explorers that will hunt for the human-like animals reported to live in the forests of North America.
The senior vice president of original series at Spike TV, Tim Duffy, said in an interview with the Huffington Post, “If this series idea had come in without that Lloyd’s of London mark attached to it, I don’t think we would have taken it seriously, but that’s no small chunk of change. What it signified to us was an opportunity to attract the best scientists, zoologists, trackers and Bigfoot hunters in the world in an attempt to prove or disprove its existence.”
The first season will have 10 episodes and the cash prize will not be awarded unless one of the contestants on the show provides Spike TV with irrefutable evidence that Bigfoot exists today. Each episode will have a run time of one hour.
