The tree is made of 40 kg of pure gold and stands about 2.4 meters high. It has a diameter of 1.2 meters and is decorated with gold plate cutouts of 50 popular Disney characters. Even the ribbons on the tree are made with gold leaf. The cost of $4.2 million is in harmony with the joy of Christmas.
So, the store, keeping in mind the economic recession and the so-confusing plight of certain sections of the populace, has compassionately offered a smaller version of the pure gold Christmas tree, priced at a mere $2 million, only for you. This one has 12 kg of pure gold and the shop management says it’s a real deal.
Reuters reported that Tomoko Ishibashi, representing the marketing department of Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewelry which runs the Ginza Tanaka Jewelry store emphasizing, “Right now gold is over 4,400 yen per gram. We used pure gold and had expert craftsman form each Disney character by hand.” She says 10 craftsmen took two months to complete the work and creating the tree.
People celebrating Christmas around the world are happy at the creation of the pure gold Christmas tree, which many say, is an absolute wonder to behold.
However, even with the heartfelt largesse offered by the Ginza Tanaka Jewelry store, buyers have steadfastly refused to express interest in buying the $4.2 million tree until now. However, people in the neighborhood are making it a point to drop in and have a look.
