It was announced recently in two press releases that the law firm of Howse Williams Bowers has added David Coogans and Brian Ho to its ranks. Coogans comes from Holman Fenwick & Willan while Ho comes from Standard Chartered Bank. Coogans was the head of the office for Holman Fenwick & Willan’s in Sydney.
Coogans works as a shipping lawyer with expertise in the areas of salvage and collision and even dry shipping. Howse Williams Bowser senior partner Chris Howse, said, “We are delighted that David is coming back to us in Hong Kong. He is a very capable shipping lawyer who can handle both collision and salvage work and also dry shipping cases. This is an important addition to our shipping and international trade practice.”
In 1989, Coogans worked on qualification with Richards Butler Hong Kong and became a partner from 1994 to 2004. Coogans adds 25 years of experience in the international trade law and shipping law sectors. He is permitted to practice law in Wales, Hong Kong, Australia and England.
Ho served as the Director in the Corporate Advisory & Finance Group with Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong. He also operated as an officer for the Hong Kong IPO execution team. Ho also took part in ECM transactions in the telecommunication, real estate, financial, retail and general industries.
Ho brings 10 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, secondary fund raising exercises, corporate finance, direct investment, initial public offerings and corporate restructurings and reorganizations.
