Thursday Thoughts

I GO TO CHARLESTON TODAY!!!! Okay, okay, I go to Charleston tonight, and arrive juuuuust before midnight. Huge props to my friend’s boyfriend for picking me up… I’m pretty pumped about this weekend: time with my friend Amy Lee (who I’m staying with) AND celebrating Meredith’s wedding with a bunch of other friends! I’ll only be there 3 days, but I think it will be a good time!

Anyway, while I’m getting excited about my trip, you get to hear all the random thoughts going through my mind this week:

1. Thanks Daily Mile…

2. In Chicago we have what’s called the ChrisKindelMarket, which is a German American holiday marketplace filled with food, drinks, candies, and tons of ornaments and wooden figures. I’d never been but had a chance to walk around it this week. I’m definitely going back and getting some candied nuts and mulled wine (in a souvenir tiny boot mug, don’t pretend you aren’t jealous).

3. Why was it so pleasant to walk around ChrisKindelMarket? It’s been unseasonably warm here!

4. Chicago has really been growing on me this year. I miiiiiight be staying past law school. We’ll see.

5. This new drawing hobby has gotten out of hand. I need to study more…

my friend’s dog, Huey

Neville

6. I bought a little girls’ XL raincoat on sale when I was home over Thanksgiving and it came in very handy this week. Yes, I’m frugal.

7. I found out I passed the MPRE (national legal ethics exam required to become a lawyer) and here was my family’s amusing reaction (to decipher, Pamela = Mom, Harrison & Mason = brothers).

I think do what your mother tells you is a good way too.

8. I am really good at finding other things to do instead of writing my paper. Which is why I need to finish this post now. Have a great weekend!

What’s a holiday tradition that your town has?

Do you have group texts with your family?

Do you like where you live? Ever think about moving?

Kathryn Wheeler: My name is Katie and I moved to Chicago in 2010 for law school and graduated in May 2013. I'm originally from Kansas City, MO and I did my undergrad at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. I started this blog in August of 2011 because I needed a creative outlet and I wanted to write about my life in a way that other women could relate to and realize that they aren’t alone in many aspects of their lives.
