VIDEO: Adorable Toddler Stomps in Mud Puddle as His Dog Patiently Waits

Normally when walking a dog, especially a puppy, the owner must patiently wait for the dog as it runs amuck in the park, chasing some ducks, or otherwise enjoying a mischievous frolick. But when the dog is a 12 year old Shar Pei, and the one walking him is a toddler, the roles can be reversed.

That’s what we see in this adorable video in which a toddler walks Watson the dog, who patiently waits as the child sets down the leash to stomp through a mud puddle repeatedly. Watson looks around, wondering how long the nonsense will go on, but is otherwise serenely patient and unperturbed, before the boy regains the leash and returns to walking Watson towards the camera.

The poster of the video chose Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend” as the music track, showing us yet again the loyal, patient, kind, and friendly nature of dogs. What other animal could we entrust our toddler’s with? And indeed, it is almost as if the dog is walking the child in this video.

Perhaps if Watson were still a pup, he would have joined in with the puddle-mucking. Long past those days, he may have been reminded of them as he watches this “puppy” having some fun.
