The boyfriend of Christine A. Meyers found out that laying down in front of her car is a very painful thing to endure. Meyers ran over her boyfriend, severely burning his chest and back and even tearing the skin off of his testicles, according to a report in the Chicago Sun-Times.
The boyfriend was picked up by Meyers from a bar, which is when the two began to argue during the drive back home in Tinley Park, Illinois this past Friday, according to court documents.
Upon arriving at home, the boyfriend exited the vehicle and decided to lay down in front of it, according to prosecutors. Meyers then ran over the man on purpose, which led to all of the injuries he sustained.
The attorney for Meyers, Tom Ost, asked the judge, Adam Bourgeois Jr., to set the bail at $6,000. That means she would need to post $600 in order to be released from jail, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune.
“Are you serious?” Bourgeois said in response. “You’re asking me to set a bond of $600 for driving over somebody? That is the charge.”
Meyers is currently being held on $100,000 bail in the Cook County Jail and has been charged with one count of felony aggravated domestic battery.
