The World Record Academy said that Mikel Ruffinelli has set the world record for the World’s Largest Hips. Ruffinelli, 39, is 420 pounds and has an eight-foot circumference. She is the mother of four and lives in Los Angeles, California. She is five-foot-four inches tall and has a 40-inch waist. According to the Daily Mail, she is happy with her figure.
“I see no reason to diet because I don’t have health problems,” Mikel said. “Men don’t fancy skinny girls, they like an hourglass figure.”
Reggie Brooks is Ruffinelli’s husband, and the two have been married for 10 years.
“She had a sweet disposition about her that really attracted me to her,” Brooks told Barcroft TV. “I like to tell people all the time, ‘I have a license to work with heavy equipment.'”
Because of her 100-inch wide hips, Ruffinelli has to drive a truck and use a chair that is reinforced to hold her at home. She has to sleep in a 7-foot-wide bed and has trouble fitting through doorways at home. Following the birth of her first child, Ruffinelli began gaining weight when she was 22.
“I put it down to my pregnancies,” she said. “I don’t see why else the weight would go to my hips, although, I do eat lots.”
Ruffinelli’s definition of ‘lots’ includes almost 3,000 calories per day.
“In the past, I was self-conscious about my hips,” Ruffinelli said. “As I got older, I learned to love my body and now I’m not afraid to show it off.”
