Yesterday morning, Lindsay Lohan had a hearing in front of Judge Stephanie Sautner. Sautner said to Lohan, “I’m glad to see you’re feeling better.” She was talking about the fact that Lohan almost did not show at the hearing because her doctor said she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection.
Lohan told Sautner that she is fine with getting rid of her longtime lawyer, Shawn Holley, and in favor of using Mark Heller from New York. Heller showed up at court on Wednesday toting a rabbit’s foot on his bag for some good luck.
Lohan appeared very sleepy while in court as Sautner asked if she was comfortable with switching lawyers. Lohan answered by telling the judge that she was OK with the switch. Sautner wanted to make sure that Lohan would be fine with it the next day as well. Lohan also said she is OK with it.
Heller received permission to represent Lohan from Sautner for Lohan’s lying to police case. Heller tried to charm the judge, saying that they were connected via New York City because she used to be a detective there. Sautner then said that flattery would not get him anywhere.
Sautner also said that Lohan could be found not guilty in the lying case, but her probation in the jewelry case could still be in violation. Sautner said that the standard of proof is lower in that case. The next hearing is scheduled for March 1.
