On Monday, Rob Morrison was arrested for reportedly choking his wife in the couple’s Connecticut home. Morrison is an anchor for CBS New York, according to The Associated Press.
On February 17, officers were called to the home of Rob and Ashley Morrison at 1:30 a.m. by Ashley’s mother.
“Upon arrival, it was ascertained that Morrison had been becoming increasingly belligerent toward his wife during the course of the evening culminating in his choking her by the neck with both hands,” said a statement from Darien Police.
The statement also said that officers saw red marks on the neck of Mrs. Morrison that were “consistent with this allegation.” She refused medical treatment.
“Morrison was placed under arrest and, while being processed, made verbal threats to do his wife additional harm which were overheard by arresting officers,” police said.
Ashley Morrison works as a reporter for CBS MoneyWatch.
The attorney for the couple, Robert Skovgaard, released a statement about the incident, which said that the couple is cooperating with authorities in the “unfortunate incident.”
“The Morrisons are confident that a full review of this matter will show that the allegations have been greatly exaggerated.”
Morrison was able to post $100,000 bond and was due to appear in court on Tuesday. He faces charges of strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct.
