Mom Arrested for Hiring Strippers for Son’s Birthday Party

A mother who hired two strippers to perform at her son’s 16th birthday party has been arrested by police, according to the Glens Falls Post-Star. The woman, identified as 33-year-old Judy H. Viger, is from Gansevoort. She has been charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The party was held on November 3, 2012 at the Spare Time Bowling Alley. It included two strippers dancing for guests of the party who were as young as 14 at the time. Some of the party guests received lap dances from the girls, who were wearing nothing but bras and thongs. A cellphone camera provided photos of one of the strippers upside-down with her head between one of the teen’s legs and his head between her legs.

The investigation into the party began when photos were posted online and stories appeared in local media outlets. There were close to 80 people at the party, most of whom were interviewed by the police. It was held in a private room at the bowling alley that had its windows covered with paper.

The endangering the welfare of a child charge is a misdemeanor and it can lead to a prison sentence of no more than one year per charge. The law states that endangerment occurs when a person “knowingly acts in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental or moral welfare of a child less than 17 years old.”
