In our celebrity news for the day, a representative for Justin Bieber said that the singer had to receive “oxygen and treatment backstage” on Thursday, according to CNN. He was in the middle of a concert when he needed the treatment. His manager, Scooter Braun, told the crowd the singer was “backstage with the EMTs and the doctor” after getting “very light of breath. He has just told me … he’s going to come out and finish the show.”
Bieber was taken to a hospital following the concert as a precautionary measure. He was released on Friday morning.
“He’s been released from the hospital early this a.m. after a check-up and while he’s feeling a little under the weather, he’s planning on going ahead with tonight’s show,” the representative said later in the day.
On Twitter Bieber thanked his fans for their support: “getting better. thanks for everyone pulling me thru tonight. best fans in the world. figuring out what happened. thanks for the love.”
Bieber posted the following message online earlier this week, prior to being hospitalized: “It ain’t always easy but is what it is. Gonna stay focused. I see and saw all the posts from around the world. U got me smiling. Love u. Thank u.”
