David Wohl, a California lawyer, is reportedly pursuing Lindsay Lohan in an effort to join her legal team, according to Entertainment Wise. Wohl believes that he can save Lohan from going to jail in her case of lying to police in June of 2012. She is scheduled to go to trial later this month.
Lohan’s current lawyer is Mark Heller, from New York, but Wohl wants to become a member of the legal team. TMZ reported Tuesday that Wohl has been practicing law in California for over 25 years and was contacted by Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s father. The report said that he has been speaking with Heller daily. Lohan has yet to provide Wohl with permission to join the legal team.
Lohan is scheduled to head to trial on March 18 in the lying to police case that stemmed from a car accident over the summer. Prosecutors are not accepting a plea deal of less than 90 days in a locked rehabilitation facility in the case.
Prosecutors are convinced that the only way for Lohan to fight the danger she poses to herself and the public is by using “effective treatment.” Lohan said she is not interested in any type of deal that has her enter rehab.
Heller told the judge at her last hearing, “This is not what she needs—rehab. Lindsay doesn’t have a problem with alcohol and drugs. Lindsay’s issues are different.”
