Ted Nugent recently spoke with Brett Winterble on SiriusXM and said that he killed 455 wild pigs with a machine gun in a field in Texas this past weekend, according to RumorFix. Nugent said that he killed the pigs for Bill Maher and other “animal rights freaks.”
“I took my machine gun in the helicopter — in the Texas hill country — me and my buddy ‘Pigman.’ His name is ‘Pigman’; I’m the swine czar. I killed 455 hogs with my machine gun. I did it for Bill Maher and all those other animal rights freaks out there,” he told Winterble, according to RumorFix. “My haters will hate me more for that.”
“We distributed tons of the most delicious pork to the soup kitchens and homeless shelters of this state. Everything we did was perfect – win, win, win,” he added. “I had to adjust my halo as I was machine-gunning hogs.”
Nugent has killed large amounts of pigs in the past, writing about it in an article for The Sportsman’s Guide. “I do believe that wild pigs are to this day, and will more than likely forevermore remain, my bowhunting quarry of choice,” he explained. “Pigs turn me on.”
The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department reports that the feral hog population in the state is more than 1.5 million.
The San Angelo Standard-Times spoke with Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples and he said, “The feral hog population has exploded in the last 20 years. These hogs are destroying front yards, farmers’ fields, golf courses and other public and private properties all across Texas, resulting in millions of dollars in damage. This is both an urban and rural problem that directly affects our economy and the future of Texas agriculture.”
Nugent also appeared on a show on the Sportsman Channel called “Pigman: The Series” in August. He and Brian “Pigman” Quaca hunted pigs from the sky.
