WIAW–Rainy Sunday

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a good week! I’m in countdown mode – only two days left until I’m on Spring Break!!! I don’t want to rub it in since I know most of you aren’t students, but it’s my last one ever so I’ve got to enjoy it!

This week’s What I Ate Wednesday Post includes all my food from Sunday, which was a pretty dreary, rainy day here in Chicago. If you’re new to WIAW, head over to Peas and Crayons to read what it’s all about and to see the other participating bloggers!

My morning started off with my newest obsession: Oat Bran. Love. It’s got a great texture and it cooks SO QUICKLY! I made oat bran with some vanilla and stevia and paired it with a  strawberry chobani and some almond butter. Coffee on the side, of course.

After getting a little reading done, I did Jillian Michael’s 6 week 6 pack level 1, and then some lower body strength training with a resistance band. I didn’t add in any cardio since I planned on taking a 3 mile walk later to the store and back.

After my workout I was craving a smoothie, so I made my Chocolate Kale “Sludge” Smoothie and ate it with an orange on the side.

I also had a piece of Udi’s bread with 1/2 T of almond butter.

After that I did some MORE reading (gotta love law school) and then headed out to walk those 3 miles, run some errands, and stop in to see Molly (oh, and my brother and sister-in-law).

When I got back I made some tea and had a dark chocolate Hershey kiss and a ginger chew (I usually eat about 3 of these a day… #addicted).

I tried to put off eating the Whole Foods hot bar food that I’d gotten for dinner, but I was HUNGRY and I figured, who cares what time I eat dinner? So I ate it. At 4:15pm.

Don’t judge.

Obviously I got hungry later, especially since everything I chose was a veggie and there were no proteins in my “dinner” so that evening I ended up having a cheese quesadilla and a couple spoonful’s of almond butter.

I also had two (unpictured) Hershey kisses.

Do you ever eat meals at odd times, especially on the weekend?

Have you ever had oat bran? (I know Kelsey is a huge fan!)

Kathryn Wheeler: My name is Katie and I moved to Chicago in 2010 for law school and graduated in May 2013. I'm originally from Kansas City, MO and I did my undergrad at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. I started this blog in August of 2011 because I needed a creative outlet and I wanted to write about my life in a way that other women could relate to and realize that they aren’t alone in many aspects of their lives.
