The law firm of Ogletree Deakins has announced that it hired David Raizman, a disability rights and employment attorney, from Drinker Biddle & Reath. Raizman will work as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office, according to Reuters.
Raizman noted that his move to Ogletree gives his clients a larger platform to handle legal issues in jurisdictions across the country. Raizman has litigated cases surrounding Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
“I can provide a very sophisticated Title III ADA practice to Ogletree’s clients,” Raizman said.
Raizman’s practices is centered around disability compliance issues for clients in the sports, hospitality, retail and entertainment industries. Raizman is representing the City of Los Angeles right now in a class action surrounding the accessibility of sidewalks and street curbs.
Raizman also represents clients with legal matters regarding harassment, discrimination, family and medical leave and wage and hour disputes. He earned his law degree from Columbia Law School and a degree in economics from Vassar College. He also holds a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
“As Ogletree Deakins continues to grow and expand its presence in California, the Los Angeles office will be a vital part of the firm’s footprint in the state,” Betsy Johnson, managing shareholder at the firm, said in January of 2012.
