Lindsay Lohan is in the news once again, as TMZ reports that the lockdown rehab she promised to enter is not real. Actually, there are zero non-jail rehab facilities that keep patients against their will in the country.
Sources say that Lohan’s lawyer, Mark Heller, told prosecutors he could get Lohan into a 90-day lockdown rehab center located in New York City. There are zero lockdown rehab centers in New York that keep patients there against their will. There is one that is connected to the prison system, but you have to have committed a felony to gain entrance. Lohan does not have a felony that can get here in there.
Again, California does not have a non-jail lockdown rehab facility in the state either, so there are no options for her in that state either. Dr. Drew spoke with TMZ, saying, “There is no rehab that will hold you against your will, unless they feel the person is a suicide risk, and in that case they can hold the individual for 72 hours.”
The real sentence handed down to Lohan was 90 days in jail, but prosecutors agreed to the deal because they thought that such a facility existed. Sources also claim that the jail option is still on the table as prosecutors continue to mull over their options.
