Bonjourno!
I hope you all are having a great week, don’t worry, we’re getting closer to the weekend! My week has been quite interesting, with getting to meet Michelle for the first time and a few school events, it’s been busy! Good thing my morning class on Monday and Wednesday was cancelled, it definitely made coming back from spring break a lot easier.
Since today is Thursday, it’s time for another round of Thursday Thoughts!
1. One of the reasons I was so excited to go to Colorado was that I could finally find Love Grown Hot Oats in stores!!! I found them at Whole Foods and brought one home! I haven’t tried it yet, but I will let you know when I do!
2. When I was in Colorado Springs, I had this EVERY MORNING for breakfast. Recipe to come soon… Let’s just say Oat Bran was most definitely involved.
3. For those of you who have been reading for a while, you might remember this gorgeous fleece pullover I wear in CO. Well, my Dad had taken it home with him the last time he was there so I had to go ALL WEEK without it. You bet your bottom dollar (where did that come from??) I immediately asked for it when he arrived Friday night and wore it constantly until I left. Love. That. Thing.
4. I mentioned yesterday that I’m running a 10K in a couple weeks (I was wrong – it’s 2.5 weeks, not 1.5 whew!) and I’m really nervous!! Haha is it weird that I’m nervous? I mean running 6 miles is one thing, but RACING 6 miles? I haven’t actually raced a distance under a half marathon in a loooong time. Like at least a year and a half… maybe more. It sounds painful. For those of you who don’t understand shorter race = faster pace. It’ll be fine…
5. Every breath you take, Every move you make, Every bond you break, Every step you take, I’ll be watching you. Um why am I quoting a serious “stalker anthem”? Because I am a stalker. Of pro-soccer players:
Seriously. First Chicago Fire and now Sporting KC. I actually regretted not saying hi to them, so I turned around and went back, only to find they’d already lined up to board their flight. Womp, womp.
6. My new way to wake up in the morning? I discovered you can set a song as your alarm, so I set mine to Thirft Shop, weirdly it fit very well with the wake-up message I’ve had in my phone for months:
Don’t worry. My morning class this week was cancelled, so I turned it off and went right back to sleep…
7. Heather wrote a great post this week about the power of the mind in your workouts. It was a great reminder for me – I used mantras all last year when marathon training but I completely stopped when I got injured. Bad timing, right? Well I need to pick them back up because I honestly believe they help you push through and get the most out of your workouts/training.
8. I recently became a KLUTCHclub affiliate – and I’m excited to get their box and try out their products. From KLUTCHclub:
KLUTCHclub is a subscription company that delivers health, wellness, and fitness products right to your door. Our boxes have more than $50 worth of nutrition, beverage, supplement, skincare, and fitness products and cost only $16-18 each month. They are for women and men who like to try new products from brands with which they may not be familiar.
They’re currently doing a promotion called #KlutchMoment, which I wanted to share with you because you can win a case of Skinnypop! Here’s what it’s about:
We have put together a social media initiative called #KLUTCHmoment that allows people to share moments in their daily life when they are making healthy choices. They can share these moments on social media by uploading the photo and adding the hashtag #KLUTCHmoment to it. We are then picking three winners who have shared their #KLUTCHmoment to win 1 case of Skinnypop each. More information can be found on our blog.
Be sure to participate if you want to win some Skinnypop! I’m really excited to receive my first box, I’ve heard a lot about KLUTCHclub and can’t wait to finally get the whole experience!
Have you ever seen anyone interesting in the airport?
How do you wake up in the morning?
What’s your favorite race distance? (honestly, I think mine is the marathon…).
