TMZ may be exaggerating a bit when it claims that Lindsay Lohan won’t go to any rehab facility that forbids Adderal. She is negotiating a case in which she lied to cops about exactly who drove recklessly and crashed a car – it was her, despite what she told them – and part of her punishment, or rehabilitation, is to join a clinic by May 2 for drug abuse, or risk immediate jail. Since she is going to the clinic in lieu of jail, she won’t have “day passes” to leave. TMZ puts the keynote that Lindsay’s lawyer “assured her she could find a lockdown rehab facility that would accommodate her demand” for Adderall access, but that “there’s no such thing as a lockdown rehab facility that would take Lindsay, much less allow her to take the drug.” Whatever that is supposed to mean, her lawyer, at least, takes issue with the report. He claims Adderall “as never a part of any discussion with the prosecutors of the court. That was never an issue addressed. “Prosecutors of the court would never interject themselves into medical determinations. Patients traditionally approve facilities of what medications, if any, they’re prescribed, and after a full series of medical evaluations, each facility determines that medications, if any, are going to be allowed. This is never dictated by the patient. It’s always determined by medical staff who are qualified.” Well that sounds a whole lot more reasonable and likely. After all, taking Adderall isn’t like taking crack cocaine. Lindsay also reportedly takes the antidepressant Zoloft and trazadone and the opiate Dilaudid. That a rehab facility would take issue with legitimately prescribed psychiatric drugs seems entirely unlikely. Lohan’s deal involves 90 days of residential rehab, 18 months of psychological counseling, and 30 days of community service. Hopefully she doesn’t continue to add to her list of offenses as she has with her previous probations.
