Letterman came off a bit insistent with his rehab-themed questions when Lindsay Lohan guest-starred on his show to promote her new movie Scary Movie 5.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in rehab now?” he began.
Lindsay: “Don’t you watch anything that goes on? What are you a tabloid now?” She then went on to tell him that she was going into rehab on May 2nd.
Letterman continued: “… And how long will you be in rehab?” She answered that she would be in rehab for 3 months. He went on to ask “How many times have you been in rehab,” and her answer was ‘several.’ Letterman then said “And how will this time be different? What are they rehabbing, first of all? What is on their list? What are they going to work on when you walk through the door?”
Rather merciless, he did bring the starlet to tears; she became too flustered to set up the clip from her movie Scary Movie 5. She did say that the rehab is “a blessing and not a curse,” and remained somewhat charming throughout the interview, and held her own and hit back a little now and then against the tenacious Letterman.
It is difficult to be in the hot seat in such a way, but Lohan did well. Hopefully she does well in rehab so she can do as she says she wants to do: “I’m happiest when I’m working, and healthiest; and I think this is an opportunity for me to – you know – focus on what I love in life.”
