Soooo we’re all ready for a fresh new week, yes? I certainly am, that’s for sure. Although I had a pretty long and emotionally taxing week (for many reasons, some of which you all experienced as well!) I ended up having a great weekend! My Friday was actually more like a school day, since I was up at 5:15am, off to the gym, had volunteer training at a legal aid clinic and then spent the rest of the day at school getting work done. However, Saturday was my fun day!
I had a nice, lazy morning and then headed out to the ‘burbs to meet up with Chelsey! I hadn’t seen her in a bout 2 months so it was great to see her and her growing belly! I still can’t believe she’ll be having TWINS! So exciting.
We met up at Whole Foods, which I was late for… Traffic on 290. If you live in Chicago you know what I mean. Luckily there were plenty of samples for her to munch on…

Don’t worry, I was stopped (in traffic…) when I responded to her.
Once I arrived we hit up the salad bar for lunch. I got a mish-mash of things but we both agreed that we should have just filled our bowls with the BBQ Pulled Pork and Mashed Potatoes. Guess we know better for next time.
After lunch it was time for our favorite activity – FROYO! We love it. So much. I can’t see Chelsey without including frozen yogurt in the deal.
After getting to catch up with Chelsey I headed back downtown (more traffic) got to see this adorable face when I dropped off the car:
By the way she can now pick up that soccer ball in her mouth and carry it around. She’s so proud.
That evening it was another great friend activity: TACO NIGHT with Emily and Lindsay! I had a mango-passion margarita, we all shared some guac and chips, and I had a duck taco (sounds odd, it was amazing) and one of their chicken tacos.
Yes, I forgot to take pictures of the tacos. But really, if you live in Chicago, you MUST check out Taco Joint!
I also went to a great yoga class on Sunday morning. I went to one yoga class this past fall and that was the only class I’ve been to in about a year… I felt like I really needed some hot yoga so I headed to Core Power Yoga for their Hot Power Fusion Class. It was amazing! Kind of like Vinyasa and Bikram combined and the teacher was fantastic. She walked around the whole time and was saying the most encouraging and thoughtful things the whole class. I think my mind needed that more than my body!
What was the best thing you did this weekend?
Are you a yoga fan? What about tacos?
