Quinn Emanuel Hires New Partners for Washington, D.C., Office

Yesterday, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan announced that Michael Lyle and Eric Lyttle have joined the firm as partners in the Washington, D.C., office.  The business litigation firm, which has offices across the world and more than 600 attorneys on staff, brought on Lyle and Lyttle to contribute to the firm’s product liability practice, with Lyle heading Washington’s product liability team.

Lyle joins Quinn Emanuel from Weil, Gotshal & Manges’ Washington, D.C., office, where he was the managing partner, member of the firms’ management committee, and co-head of the products liability practice. Prior to that, he was the director of the White House Office of Administration in the Clinton Administration, and served as the General Counsel for the White house Office of Administration.

“I was very happy at Weil,” said Lyle, “and were it not for this unique opportunity, I would still be there. However, the chance to try more cases with the premier business litigation firm in the country was too good to pass up.”

“Mike’s an experienced first chair trial lawyer,” said managing partner John Quinn.  “His experience trying complex products cases will fit ‘hand in glove’ with our growing products liability group.”

Lyttle also comes from Weil Gotshal, where he was a partner in the firm’s litigation department. He has represented clients in some of the highest profile mass torts and recent crises, as well as in sensitive congressional and government investigations.

Quinn Emanuel is focused on revitalizing their products liability practice, and hired Shelia Birnbaum and Mark Cheffo at the firm’s New York office. Birnbaum will serve as Global Head of the Products Liability and Mass Torts practice.
