Speculation is running rampant that Beyonce Knowles Carter may be expecting another baby, just 15 months after the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, with husband Jay-Z.
People Magazine reports that Beyonce has recently discussed her eagerness to have another child. On Good Morning America, the pop-superstar said “I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company….at some point, when it’s supposed to happen.”
While Beyonce has not publicly discussed the current rumors of a second pregnancy, the star’s appearance and recent behavior is feeding media speculation. At her last public appearance at last week’s Met Gala, Beyonce’s outfit, a gold and black strapless Givenchy dress, featured a belt fastened tightly around her waist. Many are saying that the physical signs of pregnancy, namely a growing belly, are visible behind that belt.
Beyonce has also canceled a show in Belgium that is part of her current tour, citing the ever-vague celebrity excuse of “exhaustion.” While the ailment of exhaustion is usually used as a way to hide drug use or addiction, it is far more likely that the squeaky clean Beyonce would use the term to cover for a pregnancy.
Despite circumstantial evidence suggesting a pregnancy, a source close to the Beyonce and Jay-Z told People that it is not the right time for the couple to have their second child. “Beyonce and Jay are planning another baby after her tour is over and things calm down just a bit,” said the source.
