Who has time to exercise nowadays? After being at the office all day and chasing children around all night who has the extra energy to throw around a bunch of weights and look like an idiot on the “stairs,” or the “orbital” or whatever these stationary devices are called? Relax, it has all been worked out for you. You actually can integrate your workout routine into your daily walking.
Visionary Joanna Rohrback invented Prancercise back in 1989, long before Psy invented a dance based on horse-riding. It’s a “springy, rhythmic way of moving forward, similar to a horse’s gait.”
All you have to do is get ready to look like a silly filly and kick at your limbs like you don’t care, prancercising instead of walking. Check out this video featured on the Huffington Post.
In all honesty, I couldn’t see most people pulling this off without the soundtrack. Watching the video, we see Joanna dancing around while an electric guitar gives a sort of dance setting for her moves. Lacking the soundtrack, I am uncertain what I would think if I saw the spry Joanna cavorting through, say, the mall or park. I mean, if it were some young teen, I might not be all that surprised, but if it were some middle aged businessman looking to loosen a little fat around his gut, then that man might cause me to exclaim “What?!”
