Lieberman Joins New York Law Firm

Recently retired Senator Joseph Lieberman announced this week his post-politics career plans: he’ll be joining national law firm Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP as senior counsel. Lieberman, who was the Democratic vice-presidential candidate in 2000, has joined the firm’s New York office, where he will be advising clients on independent and internal investigations and public policy and regulatory matters.

“I am very happy to be joining Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP and excited to return to my roots as a lawyer and counselor with the opportunity to use the independent investigative skills I learned as Attorney General and during many Senate investigations,” Senator Lieberman said.

Lieberman said that he has known Marc Kasowitz, the firm’s founding and managing partner, for more than forty years. Kasowitz volunteered on Lieberman’s first political campaign in 1970. “But of course,” said Lieberman “ I am most excited about joining the firm because Marc and his colleagues are known as really excellent and creative lawyers who fight very hard for their clients and who achieve highly successful results.”

Lieberman has represented Connecticut in the Senate for four terms. Prior to his time in the Senate, he served in the Connecticut Senate, and as the state’s Attorney General. He earned his law degree from Yale.
